Our Role in the Live Scan Process

PostalAnnex provides in-person Live Scan fingerprint capture and electronic transmission. Customers must bring a completed request form and acceptable photo identification. After fingerprint capture, we provide the ATI transaction number and copies of the submitted form.

PostalAnnex does not conduct background checks, provide criminal-history reports, select or prepare request forms, receive results, or make employment, licensing, or eligibility decisions.

We assist individuals who have been instructed by an employer, licensing organization, school, volunteer organization or other requesting organization to complete Live Scan fingerprint capture.

Customers must bring the completed request form provided by the organization requiring the fingerprint submission. PostalAnnex does not select or issue request forms.

Live Scan Service Charges

Live Scan charges vary according to the information and billing instructions shown on the completed request form.

Please bring the form to either PostalAnnex location so we can confirm the total charge before proceeding. If the form includes an authorized billing number, that billing arrangement may affect the amount due from the applicant.

We will always explain the applicable charges before beginning the fingerprint capture.

PostalAnnex offers convenient Live Scan account arrangements for employers, schools, churches, colleges, volunteer organizations and other organizations that regularly send individuals for fingerprint capture.

Organizations may establish an approved payment arrangement so authorized employees, applicants or volunteers can visit either participating PostalAnnex location without paying individually at the counter.

Depending on the account arrangement, we can provide:

  • Centralized billing or an approved payment method on file
  • Service-completion confirmation by email
  • A scanned copy of the completed request form upon request
  • Tracking of authorized individuals sent by the organization
  • A consistent walk-in process during regular business hours

Confirmations indicate only that the in-store fingerprint-capture and transmission process was completed. PostalAnnex does not receive, review or report background-check results.

A certified fingerprint roller digitally captures your fingerprints using Live Scan equipment.

6. Electronic Transmission

The fingerprint submission is transmitted through the Live Scan system using the information already provided on your request form.

7. ATI Number and Copies

You receive the ATI transaction number and copies of the submitted request form for your records and, when needed, for the requesting organization.
